Day 2 Session 5C: Helping Faith Communities Heal From Trauma
Session Summary
Like the separation of church and state, churches have chosen to separate faith and mental health for far too long. Nevertheless, the pandemic and a growing understanding of the impact of trauma have prompted houses of worship to examine the vital role mental health plays in the well-being of their members. Learn the critical steps healing practitioners can take to foster partnerships with faith communities, introduce mental health resources to congregations in a nonthreatening manner, and develop trauma-informed pathways for houses of worship.
