A recognized leader in the health advocacy space, her impactful work earned her the 2024 Wellness Professional of the Year award by Healing Black Women, Inc., and her multimedia platform was honored with both the Spotify Rising Star and Fan Fave Podcast Awards in 2025. Through an empathetic, integrative lens, Brittany empowers practitioners and clients alike to transition away from cyclical distress and toward holistic, whole-person vitality.

Beyond the Cycle: A Biopsychosocial Approach to Menstrual Symptom Management and Whole-Person Wellness

For many menstruators, cyclical hormonal fluctuations are accompanied by distressing physical, emotional, and cognitive symptoms that significantly impact daily functioning, professional self-efficacy, and overall quality of life. Traditional clinical approaches often compartmentalize these symptoms, treating them as purely physiological anomalies or isolated psychological distress. This session introduces a comprehensive, evidence-based framework utilizing the biopsychosocial model to proactively manage and mitigate undesirable menstrual cycle symptoms.

By exploring the complex interplay between biological mechanisms (endocrine fluctuations, nutritional factors), psychological variables (stress reactivity, coping mechanisms), and social-environmental influences (stigmas, systemic support), practitioners will gain a holistic understanding of menstrual health. This presentation moves beyond basic symptom management to address the multi-dimensional wellness of menstruators, safeguarding their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Attendees will leave with practical, integrative tools and behavioral strategies to immediately implement in their clinical work, empowering clients to shift from cyclical distress to systemic vitality.
