Trauma-Informed Psychotherapist | Leadership Coach | Transformational Speaker | Clinical Supervisor

Charonne M. Randall, LCSW-C, is a trauma-informed psychotherapist, leadership coach, speaker, and clinical supervisor with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals, couples, families, and helping professionals move from survival to transformation. Affectionately known as "The Divine Disruptor," Charonne is recognized for her ability to challenge limiting beliefs, uncover hidden barriers to growth, and create transformative experiences that inspire lasting change.

As the founder and CEO of Cultivating Unstoppable You, LLC, a virtual mental health practice, and Soar Beyond Coaching & Consulting, LLC, a leadership development and coaching company, Charonne specializes in helping high-achieving individuals break free from perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, anxiety, and trauma-driven patterns that keep them disconnected from themselves and others. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing begins when individuals have the courage to remove the masks they have worn to survive and embrace the authentic selves, they were created to be.

Charonne integrates evidence-based and experiential approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), attachment theory, mindfulness practices, and Brené Brown's shame resilience research and Daring Way™ methodology. As a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, she is passionate about helping individuals cultivate courage, vulnerability, self-compassion, and wholehearted living. Her clinical work focuses on understanding how protective adaptations develop in response to trauma, relational wounds, and life experiences, and helping clients move from self-protection toward connection, purpose, and emotional freedom.

Throughout her career, Charonne has worked across a variety of settings, including community mental health, leadership development, clinical supervision, and private practice. She has extensive experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and identity development. She is particularly passionate about helping ambitious women, leaders, and helping professionals recognize when the strengths that once helped them survive are now limiting their ability to thrive.

In addition to her clinical work, Charonne is an emerging thought leader and educator dedicated to advancing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care. She provides training, consultation, and continuing education workshops for clinicians on topics such as shame resilience, protective adaptations, attachment, relational healing, therapist self-awareness, leadership development, and the integration of parts work into clinical practice. Her presentations are known for blending clinical depth, practical application, storytelling, and experiential learning in ways that leave audiences both informed and inspired.

Charonne is also the creator of the SOAR Method™, a transformational framework designed to help individuals move from awareness to sustainable change by learning to See it, Own it, Align it, and Rewire it. Through her coaching, speaking, and educational programs, she empowers individuals to lead with greater authenticity, emotional intelligence, and purpose. Her signature message encourages others to stop performing for acceptance and start living from a place of alignment, courage, and conviction.

A sought-after speaker for conferences, leadership events, women's empowerment programs, and professional development trainings, Charonne is committed to helping people cultivate lives and relationships marked by authenticity, resilience, and meaningful connection. Whether working with clients, supervisees, leaders, or audiences, her mission remains the same: to help people remove the masks that no longer serve them, reclaim their voice, and walk boldly in the purpose and freedom they were created to experience.

Charonne lives out her belief that healing, leadership, and transformation begin from the inside out, one courageous conversation, one authentic choice, and one unmasked life at a time.

Am I Safe? Beyond the Strong Black Woman: Understanding Hyper-Independence in Clients and Clinicians Through Attachment, Shame, and Parts Work

Hyper-independence is often celebrated as strength, resilience, and self-sufficiency. Yet for many Black women, what appears to be confidence may actually represent a protective adaptation developed in response to attachment wounds, relational trauma, chronic stress, and cultural expectations. While these strategies often support achievement and survival, they can also create barriers to vulnerability, help-seeking, intimacy, and emotional well-being.

This presentation explores hyper-independence through the integrated lenses of attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), shame resilience research, and culturally responsive clinical practice. Participants will examine how the Strong Black Woman schema and other cultural narratives can reinforce protective self-reliance in both clients and helping professionals. Through case examples, experiential reflection, and practical interventions, attendees will learn to identify the fears underlying hyper-independence and apply culturally responsive strategies that foster trust, connection, vulnerability, and emotional flexibility in clients, supervisees, and helping professionals.

Participants will leave with a trauma-informed framework for understanding hyper-independence not as a personality trait, but as an adaptive survival strategy that deserves compassion, curiosity, and clinical attention.
