"Deconstructing the myth of constant strength; Challenging mental health stigma and creating space to heal in the christian community
Mental Health in the church started out as a topic not discussed, shameful, embarrassing, and kept hidden. This was because mental health was demonized and looked down upon. Today Mental Health is recognized as being essential components of overall health. The church is starting to welcome the idea of mental being imperative but there are still some barriers. Silence and quite conversations still lurk in the church while some people are still ambivalent about entering therapy because of the faith. The goal is to show that therapy and faith can coexist.
