The Mama Feely Framework™: A Culturally Responsive Approach to Intergenerational Trauma and Survivor Healing

Black clients often carry the psychological impact of both personal trauma and inherited survival strategies shaped by historical and systemic oppression. Traditional trauma interventions may not fully address the role of collective memory, cultural identity, and intergenerational narratives in the healing process.

This presentation introduces The Mama Feely Framework™: A Rooted Resilience Approach to Intergenerational Healing, a culturally responsive clinical model integrating narrative practices, trauma theory, identity development, and strengths-based resilience approaches. Participants will learn how to recognize trauma-adaptive patterns rooted in intergenerational experiences and utilize storytelling, contextual meaning-making, and identity reclamation to promote survivor healing.

Through case examples and experiential activities, attendees will gain practical tools for integrating culturally grounded interventions into trauma treatment with clients affected by historical trauma, community violence, racialized stress, and family adversity.
