The Symptoms We See, The Wounds We Don’t: How Childhood Trauma Shapes Adult Health, Behavior, and Relationships
People often see the symptoms but miss the wounds beneath them. Obesity, anxiety, depression, substance misuse, chronic illness, and relationship struggles are frequently treated as isolated problems when they may be rooted in unresolved childhood trauma. This presentation explores how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress become hidden drivers of adult health, behavior, and life outcomes. Participants will learn to recognize the unseen impact of trauma, understand its long-term effects, and apply trauma-informed strategies that uncover root causes, reduce stigma, and support healing and resilience.
