Victoria Miller
LPC, LMHC, PhD
Victoria Miller is a licensed professional counselor in multiple states, an adjunct professor for the University of Alaska - Fairbanks, and NBCC Foundation Mentor. As a first-generation learner she has a non-linear education with degrees in psychology, professional counseling, fine arts with a concentration in fiction writing, and a PhD in education with a concentration in curriculum and development. In 2007, Dr. Miller started her career in Community Mental Health as a graduate school intern in a large city in Indiana. After obtaining her license, she relocated her family to rural Alaska where she worked for a small hospital. That relocation opened up her career in so many ways. It allowed her to travel by small plane to many remote villages, supervise the Village Services department, branch off into IT where she helped develop the hospital’s electronic health record and held the administrator role for the EHR department for two years. The Covid-19 pandemic led to the impulsive decision to return to school where she earned a PhD in education and transitioned to working for a local consortium developing curriculum for Alaska’s Behavioral Health Aide program. During the dissertation process, Dr. Miller decided it was time to take a chance on herself and opened a solo telehealth private practice in 2022. She strives to meet clients where they are and to empower them to create the life they want to live. When she’s not practicing or teaching, Dr. Miller enjoys spending time with her family, planning her next vacation, and reading and writing fiction.
