Reynelda Jones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist, and Certified Mental Health and Integrative Medicine Specialist. She is a public speaker and the author of 2 physical products and 2 ebooks. Ms. Jones provides individual counseling at her private practice, A Solution B, LLC in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she treats women leaders and women entrepreneurs struggling with chronic stress, anxiety and behaviors and PTSD using traditional talk therapy infused with holistic approaches including nutrition and environment exploration as it relates to emotional wellness.

Day 1 Session 2B: Nutrition, Mental Health and Food injustice

Session Summary


In this training, participants will be introduced to the terms food justice and food insecurity. Research shows a significant link between brain health and nutrition. However, food insecurity and food injustice are barriers to whole-body wellness and nutritional lifestyles that may be beneficial in Black and Brown communities. Attendees will learn to identify food injustice, the negative implications it plays in Black and Brown communities, as well as, explore how to connect with communities to advocate for adequate nutrition and relieve mental health symptoms.

ClinicianFest is a 503c organization.  Proceeds from ClinicianFest are used to fund the co-pays of those in need of mental health services but unable to afford such services in their entirety. We partner with over 216 vendors, agencies, private practitioners, and community support programs to support aid in communities with scarce mental healthcare access and resources. To date, we have assisted over 1100 clients in getting the care and aid they need on their journey.
