5hahem McLaurin, LCSW

Shahem Mclaurin is a Black, queer therapist born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland who is currently stationed in Brooklyn, New York. Earning their Master’s in Social Work from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work as well as two Bachelor’s degrees in both Political Science and Women & Gender Studies, Shahem approaches healing through a multifaceted, identity-focused lens. Through the utilization of therapeutic modalities such as CBT, FFT, and EMDR Shahem centers community in the therapeutic journey while emphasizing a strengths-based perspective. Using their sharp awareness of positionality in today’s society, Shahem assists people in coping with the stress and trauma of societal, communal, and interpersonal dynamics. Through years of community organizing and service, Shahem has used their skills as a mental health professional to aid others in their personal and communal growth. Featured in CNN, Vogue, Teen Vogue, Business Insider, the Huffington Post, Afropunk, and more, Shahem centers the advancement, healing, and liberation of Black, Queer, and patriarchy-oppressed peoples.

Kiaundra Jackson, LMFT

Kiaundra Jackson is a trusted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that gets results. She has been seen on OWN’s TV show, Love Goals. Kiaundra has been recently featured in Oprah’s Magazine, Essence, Women’s Health Magazine, FOX, CBS and Forbes as one of the ‘Next 1000.’  She is an award-winning speaker, best-selling author and TV Personality. She is a noted expert on healthy relationships and mental health where her work has been recognized by Beyonce and the NAACP. Kiaundra is the visionary of KW Couples Therapy, a thriving private practice in the Los Angeles area and the Co-Founder of Black Speakers Rock, a network for new and emerging speakers.

As a graduate of Azusa Pacific University, she is currently serving as a private practitioner. Among her areas of expertise are: Premarital and Marital issues, Anxiety, Depression, Life Transition, Grief, Loss, and Faith Based Counseling. Her therapeutic approach is holistic, eclectic, and tailored to her clients' needs, making sure each person is cared for biologically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Kiaundra Jackson provides support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies with compassion and
understanding. She works with each individual, couple, or family to help build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. 

 

Kiaundra’s vision is to help ONE MILLION couples heal their relationships, prevent divorce, and keep families together.

ClinicianFest is a 503c organization.  Proceeds from ClinicianFest are used to fund the co-pays of those in need of mental health services but unable to afford such services in their entirety. We partner with over 216 vendors, agencies, private practitioners, and community support programs to support aid in communities with scarce mental healthcare access and resources. To date, we have assisted over 1100 clients in getting the care and aid they need on their journey.
