Presenter's Bio
KèIra R. Brown is a former foster youth and licensed clinical social worker specializing in clinical and macro social work. As the Vice President of Policy and Performance Management at Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA), she leads policy analysis, performance management, and program development. KèIra holds a Master of Social Work from Western New Mexico University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She is a Certified Trauma Professional, a Certified Informal Hearing Officer, and holds certifications in Grant Writing and Administration, as well as DEI Leadership.
Currently pursuing a Doctor of Social Work degree at the University of Kentucky, her focus is on bridging the gap between housing policy and trauma-informed care. KèIra founded The Kindness Korner, a virtual therapy and empowerment practice focused on access, equity, and sustainable healing.

Course Summary
This session explores how trauma-informed and healing-centered principles can transform nontraditional systems like housing into spaces that support collective and organizational well-being. Through the lens of social work leadership and policy, participants will examine how justice, equity, and care intersect to reimagine healing beyond the therapy room and within the institutions that shape people’s lives.
