Black Maternal and Mental Health Intercepts: Binding Awareness With Supportive Aid
Session Summary
Black Maternal and Mental Health Intercepts: Binding Awareness With Supportive Aid explores the critical intersection of maternal health and mental health outcomes among Black women and birthing people. This webinar examines how systemic inequities, racial disparities, and gaps in culturally responsive care contribute to adverse maternal and mental health experiences. Participants will gain insight into key intervention points (“intercepts”) across the perinatal continuum—from preconception to postpartum—where timely, culturally attuned support can significantly improve outcomes. Grounded in evidence-based practices and lived experience, this session emphasizes practical strategies for integrating awareness, advocacy, and actionable support into clinical, community, and organizational settings.
